Angel Food Ministries

 About Angel Food

Angel Food Ministries is a non-denominational, non-profit organization dedicated to providing grocery relief and financial support to communities throughout the United States. The program began in 1994 with 34 families in Monroe, Georgia, and has grown to serve thousands of families every month across 17 states.  Angel Food Ministries crosses denominational lines and has spread the good news of the gospel of Christ through salvation tracts that are placed with each food order.

 A Food Ministry with a Servant's Heart

And Jesus said to them, "I am the bread of life. He who comes to me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst." John 6:3

Blessings By The Box

Angel Food's groceries are sold in a quality that can fit into a medium-sized box at $30 per unit. Each month's menu is different that the previous month and consists of both fresh and frozen items with an average retail value of approximately $60. Comparison shopping has been done across the country in various communities using a wide range of retail grocery stores and has resulted in the same food items costing from between $55 and $78.

Generally, one unit of food assists in feeding a family of four for about one week or a senior citizen for almost a month. The food is all the same high quality you would purchase at a grocery store. There are no second-hand items, no damaged or out-dated goods, no dented cans without labels, no day-old breads and no produce that is almost too ripe.

Also, specialty boxes are available with items such as steaks, chicken, and pork. There is no limit to the number of units or bonus foods an individual can purchase, and there are no applications to complete or qualifications to which participants must adhere. Angel Food Ministries, like most all other retail grocery stores, also participate in the U.S. Food Stamp program, using the Off-Line Food Stamp Voucher system.

How The Program Works

Food sales and distribution are handled by church host sites. Orders and payments are collected by the host sites during the first part of the month. These orders are then turned in to the Angel Food main office. Several days later, the same month, food is delivered to the host site.

Guidelines

If you eat, you qualify!!

1. All orders must be paid for at the time of ordering by cash, money order, or food stamps (food stamps will be accepted on Tuesday's only).

2. Food orders can only be ordered in person on the designated order days. Orders will be taken at Milton Baptist Church on the 1st and 2nd Sunday of each month immediately following church services from 11:30 to 12:30. They will also be taken on the second Saturday of every month from 10AM until 12 PM.

3. You can order as many of the $30 sets as you like. You may order as many of the specials as you like as long as you order at least one $30 set.

4. The food must be picked up on the designated day during the designated times. The day of our area will be given to you when you order, but will always be on Saturday and around the last week of the month. If you are late, the food will become the property of the church and given to a local charity.

5. You need to bring a medium sized box or container, about the size of a laundry basket with you when you come to pick up your food.

6. When you come to pick up your food you need to bring your yellow receipt. If you cannot make it, you must give your receipt to the person that is picking up your food. If you do not have your receipt, you must show a driver's license that matches the name on the receipt.

7. Angel Food Ministries reserves the right to change the contents of the $30 box. Substitutions will be made when other food is available, but they are not guaranteed.

8. Food Stamp orders must be made in person due to special processing requirements. All Food Stamp orders must be placed 5 days before the deadline.
